After the great success of last year’s concert, Simon Tedeschi and George Washingmachine return to the little village of Newbridge to perform on the opening night of the Newbridge Art Show.
This year they bring special guest Clare O’Meara for an evening of outstanding jazz and Latin songs of the 20th Century - The Great American Songbook - in the glorious surroundings of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament.
Those who came to last year’s concert, Gershwin & More, have been clamouring for a reprise, and the performers themselves were keen to revisit what was - for everybody - a truly special experience.
As a reminder, the evening starts with the Newbridge Art Show opening night at the Newbridge Showground from 6pm, then there’s a short trip to the other side of the village to be immersed in a musical experience which soars to the vaulted ceilings and beyond.
The Spring into Art events don’t end there, though. Art workshops are running on October 15 & 16, a special Concepts of Stagecraft for Musicians on October 17, a portrait photography workshop on October 17 and a beginners photography workshop on October 18. Big bands will perform free of charge at The Gladstone Hotel on Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes and there will be other free performances throughout the village.

The Great American Songbook tickets are $95 which includes payment fee, entry to the Newbridge Art Show opening night, first drink free, parking at the art show and the shuttle bus to and from the concert venue. The venue is not huge, so numbers are limited.
