Katy

Originally from China, Katy now calls Carcoar home where she keeps a studio dedicated to ancient Eastern traditional arts.

As a child, she learnt to play the Guqin, China's oldest plucked string instrument. Its tone is quiet, distant and mellow, expressing inner feelings. In ancient times, it was believed that playing the Guqin cultivated the mind and conveyed moral principles. Its subtlety makes it a unique and elegant art of traditional Chinese culture.
