The colours, creativity and community spirit of Spring into Art at Newbridge will return in October 2026, with an expanded program of exhibitions, workshops and special events designed to inspire artists and art lovers of all ages and abilities.
A centrepiece of the program is the fifth Newbridge Art Show, which will showcase works from talented artists across the region and offer more than $6,000 in prize money. Traditionally held on the third weekend in October, this year's event has been expanded to include a full week of activities leading into the exhibition, reflecting the show's growing popularity and success.
In a first for the event, an accessible viewing day will be held on Wednesday, October 14, providing visiting groups and individuals with mobility or sensory requirements the opportunity to enjoy the exhibition in a quiet, relaxed and unhurried environment. Booked time slots will allow guests to experience the artworks at their own pace.
The program continues with two days of hands-on art workshops on October 15 and 16, led by respected Canowindra artist and tutor David Isbester. Photography enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to develop their skills through a portrait photography workshop with Martin Ryan and a beginner photography workshop with Carolyn Hide across the weekend.
Beyond the art show, Spring into Art will deliver five days of creativity across Newbridge, featuring workshops, exhibitions, concerts and free live music. Headlining the program is The Great American Songbook, starring acclaimed pianist Simon Tedeschi, jazz entertainer George Washingmachine and special guest Clare O'Meara.
Visitors can also take part in workshops led by David Isbester, Martin Ryan and Carolyn Hide, while musicians can hone their skills during a stagecraft and jazz intensive presented by George Washingmachine and Clare O'Meara.
Throughout the weekend, live performances will fill the village, with appearances from the Cowra and District Band, Ron Van Der Zwaag, Big Phatt Jazz Band and the Bathurst Panorama Chorus, alongside a range of local musicians and performers. Together, the music, workshops and exhibition program will create a vibrant festival atmosphere celebrating creativity, culture and community.
Artists from across the region are invited to enter the 5th Newbridge Art Show in the categories of Open Art, Open Photography, Miniature Art and Miniature Photography. Alongside more than $6,000 in prize money, entrants will be eligible for the Blayney Shire Council $1,000 Acquisitive Art Prize, further supporting and celebrating artistic excellence within the region.
