Prizes

The Newbridge Art Show is held annually in October in the historic village of Newbridge. It is a national art show that welcomes artists from across Australia to enter. Artists are invited to enter the competition by entering online via this website. 

This will be our fourth year organising our show, and the first with our own website. With over $4,000 in prize money across ten sections, we're excited to welcome artists across Australia.

Newbridge Spring into Art Show 2025

Terms and Conditions

1. Exhibition Dates
The exhibition will take place from Friday 17 October to Sunday 19 October 2025.

2. Entry Period
Entries open on Friday 1 August 2025.
Entries close at midnight on Sunday 28 September 2025.

3. Entry Fees
An entry fee of $20 is payable per artwork for the first three entries. A fourth entry may be submitted free of charge.
Entry is free for children aged 16 and under entering Section 9.
All fees must be paid prior to the close of entries on 28 September 2025.
Entry fees are non-refundable.

4. Delivery and Collection of Artwork
All artworks must be delivered to the Brian Bennett Pavilion, Newbridge Showground on Sunday 12 October 2025 between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Collection of unsold artworks will take place on Sunday 19 October 2025 between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

5. Exhibition Times
Opening Night will be held on Friday 17 October 2025 at 6:30 pm.
The exhibition will be open to the public on Saturday 18 October from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and on Sunday 19 October from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The exhibition will close at 3:00 pm on Sunday 19 October 2025.

6. General Entry Conditions
All entries must be original works by the exhibitor and must not have been previously exhibited at the Newbridge Art Show.
A maximum of four works may be entered per artist across all sections.
A commission of 20 percent will be taken on all sales. Artists must ensure pricing includes commission and GST, if applicable.
Size restrictions apply to the following sections:
Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 must not exceed 85 cm on any side, including framing.
Sections 3 and 7 (Minis) must not exceed 300 square centimetres for the artwork itself, excluding framing.
Section 7 Photography Small Works must not exceed 6 x 8 inches for the image size, excluding matting and frame.
Stretched canvases are acceptable and do not require framing but must be ready to hang.

7. Presentation Requirements
All artworks must be ready to hang with D-rings and a synthetic or nylon hanging cord secured to the back of the frame or canvas.
Low-quality or lightweight frames may not be accepted due to hanging risks.
The Newbridge Art Show takes no responsibility for damage caused by improperly framed works.
Artworks that do not comply with the size or hanging requirements will not be displayed.
All artworks may be reproduced by the organising committee for promotional purposes.
The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Insurance is the sole responsibility of the exhibitor. The organisers will take all due care but accept no liability for loss or damage.

8. Photography Categories (Sections 4, 5, 6, 7)

Photographs must not exceed 85 cm on any side, including framing. Photographers are responsible for obtaining written permission when capturing images on private property or of identifiable individuals.

Photographs must reflect the scene as it appeared.

Standard digital optimisation is permitted in Sections 4, 6, and 7. This includes adjustments to white balance, tone, lighting, contrast, saturation, sharpening, dodging, burning, and noise reduction.

Multi-exposure techniques, such as HDR, panoramas, and focus stacking, are allowed if all exposures are taken at the same time and place.

Creative digital manipulation is permitted only in Section 5. All visual elements must be photographic in origin and captured by the entrant.

All entries must comply with local laws and safety regulations.

Model release and landholder permission must be obtained where applicable.

9. Artificial Intelligence Policy
All entries must be original photographs entirely captured by the entrant using a camera (digital, film, or phone).
Images generated using AI tools such as Midjourney, DALL·E, or Stable Diffusion are not permitted.
Images edited using generative AI tools in programs such as Photoshop or Topaz Photo AI, where new pixels or elements are added that did not exist in the original photograph, are not eligible.
In manipulated images, all visual elements—including skies, textures, borders, and backgrounds—must be photographic in origin and captured by the entrant.
Use of stock images, stock video, clip art, or any third-party materials is prohibited.
Entrants found in breach of this policy may be disqualified at the discretion of the organising committee.

10. The Acquisitive Prize
One acquisitive prize of $1,000 will be awarded by the Blayney Shire Council.
The prize is open to all works entered in Sections 1 through 9.
The council’s decision is final and no correspondence or feedback will be provided.
Artists who wish to opt out of the acquisitive prize must notify the committee when delivering their entry.
